Krystsina Tsimanouskaya, brand ambassador for Athletes for Freedom, is set to compete at the World Championships in Tokyo, representing Poland in the women’s 4×100 m relay.

Back in 2021, Krystsina was forced to leave the Tokyo Olympics after the official Belarusian delegation tried to remove her against her will. She refused to board a plane, sought protection from Japanese police, and was granted a humanitarian visa by Poland, where she now lives and trains.

This year, Krystsina recorded 11.38 seconds in the 100 m and 23.20 in the 200 m – strong results but, unfortunately, below the qualifying standards for individual events. She was therefore selected by the Polish federation to join the relay squad.

The relay heats take place on September 20, with the final scheduled for September 21. Belarusian and Russian athletes are not admitted to the World Championships.

The AFF fully supports Krystsina and wishes her and her teammates every success in Tokyo.
