The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions once again. In a dominant 40–22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles shut down Patrick Mahomes and delivered a near-flawless performance on both sides of the ball.

Defense Stifles Mahomes

From the start, the Eagles’ defense made life miserable for Mahomes. The Chiefs quarterback threw two costly interceptions in the second quarter, including a pick-six by Cooper DeJean. Linebacker Zach Baun grabbed another interception just before halftime, setting up an Eagles touchdown that put Philadelphia ahead 24–0.

Hurts Delivers Career Performance

Jalen Hurts played like a star, earning Super Bowl MVP honors. The Eagles quarterback set a Super Bowl record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 72 and completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards. He threw a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown and added a rushing score with the Eagles’ signature “tush push.”

Chiefs Struggle to Keep Up

Kansas City never found its rhythm. By halftime, the Chiefs had managed just 23 total yards, and Mahomes had been sacked three times. Even Travis Kelce, the Chiefs’ go-to target, was a non-factor for much of the game.

In the second half, the Chiefs finally got on the board with a touchdown pass to Xavier Worthy, but the Eagles answered immediately with a 46-yard bomb from Hurts to DeVonta Smith. Another late Kansas City score made the margin more respectable, but the game had long been decided.

Eagles Secure Their Second Super Bowl Title

With this win, Philadelphia claims its second Lombardi Trophy and cements its place as one of the league’s elite teams. The Chiefs’ hopes of a three-peat ended in frustration, as Mahomes and company were outplayed from start to finish.

As confetti rained down in New Orleans, Hurts reflected on the team’s journey: “All the work, all the effort — it was worth it. This is a special group.”
