Legal and Financial Support for Refugee Athletes Worldwide

In today’s world, conflict, political instability, and repression are forcing thousands of people to leave their homes. Among them are athletes — professionals, young talents, and coaches — whose lives and careers are suddenly disrupted.

For many, sport was not just a profession, but a purpose. Yet overnight, they lose access to training, income, legal protection, and the ability to compete.

The Reality They Face

Refugee athletes often arrive in new countries with nothing but their determination. They face complex legal systems, uncertain immigration status, financial hardship, and limited access to professional opportunities.

Without proper support, many are unable to continue their careers — and risk being permanently excluded from the global sports community.

Our Mission

The Athletes for Freedom Foundation (AFF) provides legal and financial assistance to refugee athletes in the United States and other countries.

We support athletes who have been forced to relocate due to war, political persecution, or instability — helping them rebuild their lives and return to sport.

AFF actively accepts applications from athletes worldwide seeking this type of support.

This is more than helping athletes — it is about protecting human dignity, freedom, and the right to pursue one’s path.

Every athlete we support represents resilience, courage, and the belief that even in the face of displacement, a future is still possible.
