Urgent Appeal: Support Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital After Devastating Missile Strike
In a horrifying act of aggression, a Russian missile has struck the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv. This deliberate attack on innocent children is a blatant war crime.
The missile attack on July 8 resulted in the destruction of one of the hospital’s buildings. President Zelenskiy announced that at least 38 people were killed and 190 wounded, many children among them. Over 40 rockets were fired, causing widespread devastation in the city.
The Athletes for Freedom Foundation’s ambassadors have a history of supporting this vital hospital. In May 2022, following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, they organized a fundraising tournament to provide much-needed resources for Okhmatdyt. Tragically, we must once again rally together to support this unique establishment.
We are in direct communication with Okhmatdyt Hospital and have been officially authorized to launch this urgent fundraiser.
The AFF has already provided $35,000 worth of value in kind in the form of a much-needed SUV: a 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The vehicle, which underwent a full service before dispatch and was acquired at an internal auction in the US, is highly appreciated by the hospital, especially as their vehicle was destroyed in the missile hit.
However, we seek to raise a total of $40,000, with the remainder to be transferred for purchasing necessary medication by the hospital specialists.
