The 33rd Summer Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11. Paris is hosting the Games for the third time, previously in 1900 and 1924.

🏃 A total of 32 sports will be represented. In addition to the 28 main sports, breakdancing, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing have also been selected to “set a new standard for inclusive, gender-balanced, and youth-oriented games.”

In 2022, the slogan of the 2024 Olympics was unveiled — “Games open to all.” The slogan emphasizes parity between the sexes (5,250 male and female athletes) and openness to new sports.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that 28 Belarusian athletes and 55 athletes from the Russian Federation could qualify for the Olympics. So far, 26 athletes with Belarusian passports and 45 athletes from the Russian Federation have received Olympic licenses.

🏅 Meanwhile, the IOC has developed criteria of neutrality that athletes must comply with: they cannot take part in team competitions, must not have supported the war in Ukraine, and should not be under contract with the Belarusian or Russian military or national security agencies. Consequently, they will not be included in the medal table. The Athletes For Freedom Foundation is closely following this development to ensure compliance and uphold the integrity of the Games.
